For Midway Games' recent football title Blitz: The League 2, Sleepwalker|Media members were tasked with creating an opening cinematic that channeled the impact of Blitz's bone-crushing game play.  

When first presented with game team's  script, they quickly realized that the proposed cinematic's football action contained situations that would never occur in actual game - whether in Blitz or on a real-life gridiron. Sleepwalker members re-wrote the script to improve the cinematic's realism and to amp up its energy and pacing.

In the animatic, a combination of techniques were used; double-cut action editing, constantly roving camera, and film speed changes to put modern sports cinematography techniques in the service of establishing the intensity of the experience. Sleepwalker members created all required assets for the final render, including all motion capture and voiceover performances. Due to scheduling constraints, final scene assembly was handed off to Technicolor Interactive Services in Burbank, California. Sleepwalker members closely supervised Technicolor's work to ensure that the game's overall vision was maintained.
